To Women Far and Wide
to Participate in a Ground-Breaking, Soul-Awakening Event:
The 34th Annual “Purim High Council Prayer and Meditation Happening for Women”
(that will also be available via Zoom)
In this part of the world we are preparing for Sarah Yehudit’s 34th annual open-house Shushan-Purim-Dance-and-Learn-Seuda-for-Women featuring the Purim-High-Council-Prayer-and-Meditation-Ceremony.
However, this Holy Purim Assembly has grown over the years until I was renting a tent on the roof to accommodate everyone.
But for several reasons, not least of which, the waning ability to manage the humongous task of it all, I am shifting, this year, in the direction of downsizing. This means returning the party and the ceremony back to my apartment which, as you will recall, is not exactly spacious.
I considered having it at another, more expansive home, but that presented logistical problems of its own.
So I am (hopefully) renting the apartment beneath my place and that is where the food will be, so the whole upper apartment will be available for dance, learning and ceremony. But it will still be tight. The roof will still be available (weather permitting) to handle overflow, and I hope to have speakers up there as well. But there will not be a tent. And at this point there is no guarantee that all of my plans and workarounds will actually be possible.
You can decide to brave it, and come anyway. Or, you can set up a zoom link in your home and participate, live, that way. Or, (under Malka Sima and Chana Vered’s tutelage) you are invited to create a Purim High Council on your own, in your neighborhood, at a time and place that is convenient for you. We will provide the script and additional advice.
Malka Sima and Chana Vered are teaching introductory classes so you can familiarize yourselves with the content of the High Council and its practices. Thanks to Malka Sima and Chana Vered there are neighborhood Purim High Councils happening all over the world, in varied time zones and on both regular and Shushan Purim. Last year there were forty, world-wide.
The High Council will be accessible live on zoom. There will be videos and zoom access in all the rooms of SY’s apartment as well. (בע”ה)
I am just putting this out there so people have the whole picture and can plan accordingly (whatever that means). I’ll send updates as the day approaches.

Shushan Purim is on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Doors opens at 5:00 PM
High Council at 6:00 PM Sharp (in order to overlap Purim proper). The High Council Prayer and Meditation Happening goes for approx. 1.5 hours:
6:00 – 7:30 PM Jerusalem | 11:00 AM EDT | 8:00 AM PDT | 4:00 PM UK |
3:00 AM Sydney
Party resumes at 7:30 – midnight
Also, just to clarify, that the High Council takes place within a larger Purim Party of dancing, learning and inebriating that generally goes through the wee hours. You are invited to both. Details will follow.
